Texting support

How text-message handoff works in Prentice.

Prentice is designed to keep operators in control of customer text communication while still helping them move quickly.

Operator-initiated texting

When a text follow-up is appropriate, Prentice may create an internal task for the operator. On mobile devices, Prentice can open the operator's native messaging app with the lead's phone number and a prepared message. The operator reviews the message and decides whether to send it.

Prentice does not currently operate a recurring automated SMS marketing program for customers. Any manual text sent through the operator's native messaging app is sent by the operator through the operator's own device, carrier, and messaging service. Message and data rates may apply under the operator's mobile plan.

What Prentice logs

If the operator confirms that a manual text was sent, Prentice logs that manual action on the lead timeline for workflow visibility. For custom manual texts, Prentice does not require the operator to store the full message body in Prentice.

Respecting contact preferences

Prentice tracks do-not-contact and do-not-SMS indicators so the workflow can avoid prompting operators to text people who should not receive text follow-up.

Operators remain responsible for confirming that a customer may be contacted by text and for honoring opt-outs, do-not-contact requests, and applicable communication rules.
